Patients on regular medication will require repeat prescriptions and for a safer, speedier service, prescriptions are all computerised. Your doctor should have entered onto the computer which medication you are taking and each time a new prescription is issued on the computer, a new repeat slip is generated for you to make your next request.
You can sign up to our patient online access and order via the link at the top of this page. Alternatively you can e-mail us on firstname.lastname@example.org , post or bring your repeat prescription request into the surgery.
Requests for repeat prescriptions are not taken over the telephone. This is for medico-legal reasons as errors can occur in verbal communication.
- Allow at least two working days (48 hours excluding weekends and bank holidays) for your prescription to be processed by the surgery.
- If you have more than one regular repeat prescription, please try and order all items together.
- Clearly tick which items on the repeat slip you require.
Please allow two working days for the prescription to be ready for collection at the pharmacy. If required most chemists offer a service to have medication delivered to your home.
Please let our reception team know which chemist you would like us to send your prescription.
Electronic Prescribing Service
This practice is set up for the electronic prescription service.
This means that for most patients we can send your prescription to your chosen chemist directly saving you having to come down to the surgery.
To get your prescription sent to your chosen pharmacy you will have to ask reception to sign up.

Controlled Drugs Via EPS
Please note, from 3rd April 2019 here at the surgery we will be able to send Controlled Drugs electronically via EPS (Electronic Prescription Service). Therefore you will no longer receive a separate prescription, unless you are being prescribed oral liquid Methadone (this will continue to be prescribed as a paper prescription).
Pharmacy Management Systems
Some local pharmacies offer a prescription management service whereby you go direct to the pharmacy to arrange your repeat medication in advance.
For details on services please ask your local pharmacy.
