NHS Health Checks
The NHS Health Check is a health check-up for adults in England aged 40-74. It’s designed to spot early signs of stroke, kidney disease, heart disease, type 2 diabetes or dementia. As we get older, we have a higher risk of developing one of these conditions. An NHS Health Check helps find ways to lower this risk. Please contact reception if you would like to book in and fit the above criteria.
MSK Clinic (Musculoskeletal Clinic)
As a practice we are delighted to have a new clinic which has been set up by Sussex MSK Partnership East, the local NHS service for patients with bone, joint and muscular problems.
Patients have a 30 minute appointment with a specialist clinician known as an Extended Scope Practitioner (ESP). ESPs are physiotherapists who have advanced knowledge of musculoskeletal problems and work closely with orthopaedic, rheumatology and pain consultants.
Please contact us to book an appointment.
At the surgery a new service has been started whereby we can refer our patient for Health Coaching.
Health coaching is helping people gain the knowledge, skills, tools and confidence to become active participants in their care so that they can reach their self-identified health goals.
By providing clinicians, (and peer coaches) with new skills that help people identify what’s most important to them, and tapping into their own internal motivation, evidence shows health coaching can also address health inequalities, improve health behaviours including medication compliance and reduce avoidable admissions.
To be referred please contact the surgery for further information.
Including dressings, ear-syringing, chronic disease management, blood pressure checks, blood tests, child immunisations and travel vaccinations. (If you have a blood test remember to ring in after 2pm 3 or more days later to get your results).

For your information we no longer offer routine ear syringing. We have a limited number of appointments available each month, but these get taken very quickly. You are more than welcome to see the Practice Nurse to have your ears checked for wax, but please be aware that there may be a long waiting list for syringing and you may have to wait 3 or 4 months for an appointment.
If it is urgent there are several places locally that offer private ear clearance:-
- Focus Hailsham 01323 442062
- Specsavers Eastbourne 01323 649767
- Just Ears Clinic Eastbourne 03455 272727
You may also like to try olive oil or sodium bicarbonate drops.
For those patients that cannot have syringing because of infection, ear surgery or a previous perforation, we offer a microsuction service. Please ask your Practice Nurse about this service.
Our Nurses can provide comprehensive travel health advice and arrange for appropriate immunisations. Please arrange an appointment for a travel consultation at least 6-8 weeks before departure if possible. Vaccines need time to take effect and some may require a course over several weeks.
